Check your specific plan, not just the company name
An insurance company's name is a starting point, but it does not tell you everything about your child's ABA benefits. Plans from the same company may have different networks and requirements. Before assuming care is covered, ask about your specific plan and the provider you want to use. You do not need to understand every insurance term first; asking for a plain-language explanation is a sensible place to begin.
Arise offers a free insurance benefits check for families exploring ABA services. That review can help clarify the next questions, but it is not a guarantee of coverage or payment. Your insurer makes coverage decisions according to your plan. Keep this distinction in mind when planning care, especially if a general website or a previous conversation suggested that an insurer was accepted.
Have the basics ready
Have your current insurance card available when you contact Arise or your insurer. Make sure you are looking at the plan that covers your child now, particularly if your family has recently changed coverage. Ask what information is needed for the benefits check and how to provide it. Use the appropriate intake process rather than sending medical paperwork through an unrelated message or public comment.
For a call to your insurer, the member services number on your card is a useful starting point. Write down your questions beforehand and keep notes about the answers. If a term is unfamiliar, ask what it means for your family in practice. You can also ask how to obtain the information in writing so you have something to refer to later.
Ask about network, authorization and costs
Ask whether your specific plan includes ABA benefits and whether Arise is in network for that plan. Then ask whether a referral or prior authorization is required, which documents are needed, and what the assessment process requires. A benefits check and authorization are different steps. Do not assume one means the other is complete, and ask who will explain the next step before services begin.
Discuss potential family costs directly. Useful questions include whether a deductible applies, whether there are copayments or coinsurance, and how any limits or exclusions affect services. Ask how to clarify an answer if the insurer and provider describe something differently. No general article can calculate your responsibility from the company name alone, and coverage for another family's child may not match your plan.
Use Arise's insurance information as a starting point
Arise's current insurance list includes Florida Medicaid, Florida Blue / BCBS, Aetna, AvMed, Carelon / Simply, Cigna, Magellan, Meritain, Molina / CMS, Oscar, Optum, United / UHC / UMR. Out-of-network coverage may be accepted; ask the team about your plan. This list is a guide for an inquiry, not confirmation that every product from each insurer covers every service. Visit our Insurance Information page and request a free benefits check before relying on a company name alone.
Arise has clinics in Lake Mary, Sanford, Clermont, with center-based ABA, in-home ABA, ABA at daycares, and parent training. Ask whether your plan's requirements differ for the setting being considered. Your child's treatment needs, service availability, and insurance requirements all belong in the conversation. You do not need to select a setting before asking for help understanding these pieces.
Confirm the clinical starting point too
Arise serves newly diagnosed children up to age 5 through early intervention. An autism diagnosis is required before ABA services can start. Arise does not offer diagnostic services; if an evaluation is needed, ask your pediatrician about a referral to a developmental-behavioral pediatrician or pediatric neurologist. After the required steps, a BCBA assessment informs the treatment plan before therapy begins. Contact Arise when you are ready to ask questions and arrange your free insurance benefits check.
